The Star Trek phenomenon is surrounded by its own folklore and superstitions; they're part of what makes Star Trek what it is, part of what gives the word 'trekker' a new meaning.

So here's a review of those amusing or mystifying details that have stimulated the mind or stretched the imagination of generations of Trekkers...

47

Number 47: Have you ever noticed how there's always 47 seconds left before core breach, the shields drop to 47 percent, and 47 people survived the latest disaster? Check out this freak 'Trekker's lucky number' here.

The chronology of Tasha Yar/ Sela Yar: Tough one, that. Most Trekkers get used to temporal twisters pretty easily, but this one has stumped just about anybody who has seriously considered the question. The 'Star Trek Fact Files' claim to have solved the enigma, but some of us are not quite convinced... So, here's for starters!

This is a pic of a black hole. Well done, huh?

The Undiscovered Plot Holes: This is a little different from the usual nitpicking etc... but the concept's roughly the same; to make a point of coming down hard on plot writers who didn't do their homework. Here's a small-but-growing colony of plot holes so obvious you hardly notice them at all...

More to come including classics such as the danger of wearing a red shirt on an away mission, and how many shuttles does Voyager really have?

If you come across something weird I haven't mentioned in an episode or movie, please contact me so I can discuss it here.
